Ghost Core is a screenless personal AI computer priced at $3,499, with the first batch scheduled to ship on October 31, 2026. San Francisco startup Ghost unveiled it on October 5. According to the official product page, it packs an NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF graphics card (24GB memory), an AMD Ryzen 5 7600, 64GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The official page does not mention sales or shipping in Korea. As of 2026-10-07, the first batch shows as sold out on the official page.

Ghost Core price and specs
The specs below come from the Ghost official product page. All values are company claims, and no independent reviews or measurements have appeared yet. Noise, power draw and exact dimensions are not listed on the page. The graphics card is the small form factor (SFF) version of NVIDIA's professional RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell.

The $3,499 price does not include tax. At an assumed rate of 1,400 KRW per dollar, that comes to about 4.9 million KRW. If you import it to Korea, customs duty, VAT and shipping may be added on top (this is simple multiplication, and the actual charge depends on exchange rates and taxes). The price of the next batch is not yet on the official page.
How Ghost Core runs AI agents
An AI agent is an AI that handles multi-step tasks on its own, such as checking email or organizing your calendar. According to the official product page, Ghost Core runs these agents on the device instead of in a cloud service. Founder Zain Javaid explained in a TechCrunch interview that the source code, logic and model weights live on the device, not on a service.
There is no screen or keyboard, so you talk to it by text or voice through a phone app. Reports say the device can access your email, calendar, files and smart home devices. The default models listed on the official page are Qwen 3.8-Next, Qwen 3.8-27B, Gemma 4-31B and Muse-Glimmer-30B. Reports say you can also install other models from Hugging Face (a site for sharing AI models).

How Ghost Core differs from cloud AI subscriptions
The biggest difference is where the model runs. Subscription services like ChatGPT or Claude use large models on the company's servers. Ghost Core uses open models sized to fit in the device's 24GB of graphics memory. The model list on the official page includes only open models, and it does not say that the latest commercial frontier models are supported.
| Comparison | Cloud AI subscription | Ghost Core |
|---|---|---|
| Where the model runs | Vendor servers | Your device |
| Data and model weight storage | Vendor service | On the device (per the founder) |
| Model size | Large commercial models | Four open models sized for 24GB of graphics memory by default |
| Cost structure | Monthly subscription | $3,499 one time, no subscription confirmed |
The limits are clear too. Martin Cid's report pointed out that local models of this size are weaker than large cloud systems at complex reasoning and coding. It suits tasks where you do not want personal data to leave the device, and automation that runs 24 hours a day. If hard coding or long reasoning is your main use, it is unlikely to replace a subscription service.

Ghost Core purchase and shipping in Korea
It is not confirmed whether you can buy it in Korea. The official product page lists the price only in US dollars. It has no list of shipping countries, no Korean price and no radio certification information. Inquiries go to support@ghost.ai. Reports also do not mention shipping for buyers in Europe, Asia or South America. Assembly is said to take place at a facility in San Francisco.
If you are considering a purchase from Korea, first check the shipping countries on the official page. For an overseas direct purchase, it is safer to ask before ordering about customs duty and VAT, whether it has Korean radio certification, and whether the 1-year warranty applies outside the US. The official page lists the first batch as shipping October 31, with 30-day returns and a 1-year warranty, and you should check stock live on the page. As of 2026-10-07, the official page shows the first batch as 'Sold Out', and the next batch only accepts interest registration through a 'Register interest for batch 2' button.
What to check before ordering Ghost Core
- On ghost.ai/core, check whether it ships to your address and what the final amount at checkout is, including tax and shipping.
- Ask support@ghost.ai about shipping to Korea, Korean radio certification and whether the 1-year warranty applies abroad. Do not pay before you get an answer.
- Decide whether your use is light automation like organizing email and calendar, or hard coding. For the latter, keep your cloud subscription.
A bad purchase is one that assumes you can get it in Korea at the same price. The dollar price leaves out customs duty and VAT, so real spending goes up, and without certification it may be hard to use in Korea.
Ghost Core frequently asked questions
Does Ghost Core have a subscription fee?
The official page FAQ has an entry on whether a subscription is required, but the answer is not visible in the public text. The only confirmed price is the $3,499 one-time payment.
Can it be used without internet?
The page says the models run on the device, but I could not confirm from the official FAQ whether every feature works without internet. Connecting to outside services like email and calendar only makes sense with an internet connection.
What is the difference between this and installing local AI on a regular PC at this price?
Looking at parts alone, you could build a similar spec yourself. What sets Ghost Core apart is that it is a finished product that includes the agent software. No performance or stability comparison with a self-built PC has been published yet.
