Midjourney Pricing: Plan Differences and Free Access

Midjourney pricing on monthly billing is $10 for Basic, $30 for Standard, $60 for Pro and $120 for Mega, and yearly billing is 20% cheaper. The official plan comparison page lists only these four subscriptions, and there is no free plan. The page does not state when prices were last changed. It only says that "plans and features may change." The values below are based on the page as it appeared on October 1, 2026.

Midjourney pricing compared across the 4 plans

All four plans are subscriptions that renew automatically, monthly or yearly. Higher plans give you more Fast GPU time for quick image generation. They also unlock Relax mode, which has no time limit, and private mode. All prices and features in the table below come from the table on the official plan comparison page.

Fast GPU time is the monthly amount your account can use to generate images quickly. When you run out, Basic users buy extra time to keep going. Standard and above can keep creating in Relax mode at a slower speed. In the official table, extra GPU time costs $4 per hour on every plan.

Can you use Midjourney for free

The official plan comparison page has no free plan, so you need to pay at least $10 for Basic to start. The page names only four subscription types: Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega. Before you sign up, check the current price and any trial offer once more on the checkout screen.

How to choose a Midjourney plan

Choose a plan based on how many images you make per month, whether you need privacy, and whether you use video. Using the monthly price and Fast time from the official table, the hourly price works out as follows (the author's calculation). Basic is about $3 ($10 ÷ 3.3 hours). Standard, Pro and Mega are all $2 ($30 ÷ 15 hours, $60 ÷ 30 hours, $120 ÷ 60 hours). If you often buy extra time on Basic, you pay $4 per hour, while Standard gives you Fast time at $2 per hour. In that case, upgrading is cheaper.

If you plan to use Midjourney for a year or more, yearly billing is 20% cheaper. However, you pay the full annual fee at once, so monthly billing is better if you only want to try it for a month.

How much is it in Korean won

Midjourney prices are shown in US dollars. If we assume 1,400 KRW (Korean won) per dollar, monthly billing comes to about 14,000 KRW for Basic, 42,000 KRW for Standard, 84,000 KRW for Pro and 168,000 KRW for Mega. These figures are for illustration only. Your actual charge depends on your card issuer's exchange rate, foreign transaction fees and taxes, so check the checkout screen and your card statement.

Midjourney cancellation and refund rules

You can cancel your subscription at any time, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. According to the official cancellation guide, you keep using all features, including any remaining Fast time, until then. Canceling does not delete your images or account history.

A refund is possible only if the account has used less than 20 minutes of GPU time in total.

Refunds are stricter. The official refund guide says it refunds only accounts that have used less than 20 minutes of GPU time, Fast and Relax combined, over the entire life of the account. If you qualify, a refund request button appears automatically on the cancellation screen. If you do not see it, no refund is available. Processing can take up to 10 business days depending on your bank. If you might want a refund, decide whether the plan fits you before you use any GPU time.

Where to check billing and subscription status

After you log in, check your billing status on the Manage Subscription page. If a renewal payment fails, the plan changes to Paused and the system retries the payment over several days. If it keeps failing, the subscription is canceled automatically. As described in the official Paused plan guide, you fix your payment details with the Edit Billing button on the same page. A receipt email arrives when payment succeeds, so do not assume success just because your banking app shows a pending authorization.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Midjourney images commercially

According to the official comparison page, if you have a subscription history you can use images and videos for most purposes. However, companies with annual revenue above $1 million must subscribe to the Pro or Mega plan.

Do my images disappear if I cancel

No. The official cancellation guide says your images and account history remain, private images stay private, and you can resubscribe at any time.

What should I do if a renewal payment fails

If your plan shows as Paused, fix your payment details with Edit Billing on the Manage Subscription page. To stop the payment retries, cancel the Paused plan on the same page and subscribe again.
