Naver AdPost is Naver's ad revenue service (Naver is Korea's largest search engine) that places ads on your blog and shares the revenue with you. After you sign up, you register your blog as media, and once it passes review, ads appear automatically. Individuals aged 19 or older can join, and blog review takes up to 5 business days according to the Naver Help Center guide. Earnings are paid automatically on the 25th of each month, and individual members have 8.8% withheld as tax when annual payouts exceed 125,000 KRW. This article walks through signup, the application steps, rejection reasons and payout conditions in order, based on the official help pages as of October 8, 2026 and the AdPost operating policy (version applied May 7, 2026).
AdPost shows ads on your blog and shares the revenue
AdPost places advertisers' ads on media such as Naver Blog and distributes income to the members who run that media. Under section 7 of the operating policy, income is split according to the revenue sharing standard set by the service the media belongs to. The exact share can differ by media. Section 3.1 of the same policy states that for basic ads, income does not accumulate even when a click occurs.
You do not choose where ads appear. Once you register your blog as media and pass review, ads are shown without any extra setup.
AdPost requirements and media registration criteria
Signing up and registering media are separate steps. According to the signup guide, Naver users aged 19 or older can join as an individual, a sole proprietor or a for-profit corporation. Nonprofit corporations, tax-exempt businesses, and anyone who left AdPost less than 30 days ago cannot join. Individuals verify their identity with an i-PIN or a mobile number in their own name, and foreign ID documents are not accepted. Sole proprietors need an account verified under the same real name as the representative on the business registration certificate.
| Type | Eligibility and conditions |
|---|---|
| Individual | Age 19 or older, identity verified by i-PIN or a mobile number in your own name |
| Sole proprietor | Joins after business information review, with an account verified under the same real name as the representative |
| For-profit corporation | Joins with an organization member account. An individual account cannot be converted to a corporation |
| Nonprofit corporation or tax-exempt business | Cannot join |
The criteria for registering a blog as media are the operating period, the number of public posts, activity metrics such as unique visitors (UV) and page views (PV), and whether the content suits an ad medium. The exact numbers, such as a minimum number of days or posts, are not published. In its help page, Naver says it withholds specific figures because people might produce unnatural content in a short time just to pass review. Numbers circulating in review posts, like "90 days, 50 posts, 100 visitors", are not criteria announced by Naver.
Visitors and page views are checked against last month's data. Naver explains that if you request a re-review in a month when your application was put on hold, you can get the same result again.
How to apply for AdPost: media registration steps
After signing up, you apply to register the blog where you want ads to appear. The steps are below.
- On the AdPost homepage, go to Media Management > Register Media.
- Click Register Naver Media and select Blog.
- Choose the detailed media type and your preferred topics. You can change preferred topics later in the media settings menu.
According to the Help Center guide, review takes up to 5 business days for blogs, and ads appear automatically once you pass. An individual member can register up to 3 blogs as media per unique identification record, and can hold up to 100 media in total across normal, on-hold and rejected statuses.
When the blog you registered changes to normal status in the media management list, it has passed review. Ads appear after this review ends, not right after registration.
What to do when AdPost rejects or holds your blog
The media rejection guide divides restricted content into 25 items. Many are obvious, such as adult content, gambling, private lending and illegal medicines. But some items catch blog owners by accident.
- Offering rewards for viewing or clicking ads
- Having a large share of promotional content, including AdPost ads, compared with the media's own content
- Driving traffic in an abnormal way
- Mainly providing content for infants and young children
If you receive a rejection email, delete all the problem content and then request that the restriction be lifted. If monitoring finds problem content again after the restriction is lifted, you are restricted again. After 3 restrictions, you are permanently restricted and cannot use AdPost.
AdPost payout date and minimum payout amount
The payout help page explains that if you meet all conditions as of the last day of the previous month, you become eligible for this month's payout. This reference information is applied to the automatic payout on the 25th of each month. So if you fix your bank account or change the minimum payout amount just before the 25th, it will not apply this month.
| Condition | Details |
|---|---|
| Income balance | At least the minimum payout amount. If you have not set one, 50,000 KRW or more (operating policy 7.1) |
| Where to set the minimum payout amount | AdPost > My Info > Edit Member Info > Income Payout Settings |
| Bank account | Verified |
| Payout date | Paid automatically on the 25th of each month. The date changes if it falls on a holiday, so check AdPost notices |
Even if you are eligible, the payout fails when the registered account has invalid information. If you receive a failure notice, verify the account again. Under section 7.1 of the operating policy, the unpaid amount carries over to the next month.
On tax, according to the Naver help page, an individual member becomes subject to withholding when annual payouts exceed 125,000 KRW. Naver deducts 8.8% (8% income tax, 0.8% resident tax) from all payouts that year. When you pass 125,000 KRW, the tax on payouts received since January is withheld retroactively in one go. If annual payouts are 125,000 KRW or less, they are exempt. Even if your AdPost income is below this amount, you may have to file a return if you have other miscellaneous income, and the guide tells you to contact the National Tax Service in that case.
How to check earnings and what not to do
You can see earnings in the income report and payout report under the Reports menu on the AdPost homepage. Section 7.4 of the operating policy says the earnings shown in a report are reprocessed until payout is complete, so some amounts may be adjusted. Do not treat the numbers on screen that day as final income. Reports are available for up to the last 5 years.
The most common mistake is inducing clicks. Section 5.1 of the operating policy treats these as invalid clicks: putting phrases or images such as "Click the ad", "Please help me" or "Click the link" on your media, asking for clicks by email, messenger or SMS, and using automatic click tools. If improper income is found, Naver can hold or refuse the payout, and can also take back income already paid and return it to advertisers.

An individual member can register up to 3 blogs as media per unique identification record.

What should I do if no payment arrives on the 25th?
